Package: texlive-math-extra
Version: 2007.dfsg.17-1~lenny01

I wanted to \usepackage{xfrac} in my document, so I installed texlive-math-extra. However, it failed with a compilation error:

! LaTeX Error: File `template.sty' not found.

After a search on packages.debian.org, I found this file in texlive-latex3 and installed that. This gave me two new compilation errors:

LaTeX Warning: You have requested, on input line 28, version
               `2001/07/25' of package template,
               but only version
               `1999/09/28 v0.14 template parsing (DPC,FMi)'
               is available.

(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex3/xparse/xparse.sty)

LaTeX Warning: You have requested, on input line 29, version
               `2000/01/29' of package xparse,
               but only version
`1999/09/10 v0.17 generic document command parser'
               is available.

! Undefined control sequence.

If I comment out \usepackage{xfrac}, my document compiles without any errors.

Regards,
Michael

In TL 1009-1 the xfrac package has been moved to texlive-latex3. This
solves your dep-problem.

-> Closing.
