You are using a very old Debian release, we cannot provide support 
for that. Pleae upgrade to the stable Debian distribution lenny.

Even the security support for Etch has been discontinued since 2010-01-30.

The problem is well known, it is the "5-year old bug", if you search
the bug database you will find enough entries and how to fix that
by patching some files.
