Of course this was my own fault. When having more than 1 version of
luatex in "apt-cache policy" one has to select, which one to use:
sid:~# apt-get -t experimental install tex-common texlive-binaries
<snip> -t 0.45.0-2 luatex
Upgrade worked, I have now a working(?) TL 2009 on my disk!
