package debian lenny dependancy problem with texinfo and texi2html

Hi,

I'm writing to you because i'd like to compile lilypond (lilypond.org)
documentation.

In order to do that I have to install texi2html as required on this page :

http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.13/Documentation/topdocs/INSTALL#Requirements

" ... Running requirements ...Texi2HTML 1.82 or newer"

I'm using debian lenny (arch : intel 32bits).

The problem is : when I want to install the texi2html package (forcing
1.82 version, because 1.78 is proposed by default) my packet manager
(synaptic) force me to uninstall texinfo : it doesn't allow me to
install both texi2html and texinfo so the command ./autogen.sh returns
:

ERROR: Please install required programs: makeinfo
or
WARNING: Please consider installing optional programs: texi2html

both these situations makes the command "make" fail ...

The point is that both texinfo and texi2html are required to compile the doc ...

I wrote a message on the french-users mailing list of lilypond. :

http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user-fr/2009-11/msg00178.html
(french)

and I was answered

http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user-fr/2009-11/msg00179.html
(french)

it is because there is a symbolic link missing between makeinfo and
texi2html (a packaging error)... and to report this problem to the
package maintainers.

I don't know if key details are missing of if I'm clear enough in the
description of the problem (sorry for my poor english).

I sent a similar email to the texi2html maintainer ....
