The upgrade was not particularly smooth. Some packages did not want to
configure from the first time, complaining that tex-common, texlive-common
and texlive-binaries were not installed completely. But after two or
three runs with aptitude, the installation was complete.
I would help testing the upgrade process if needed, from a fresh
bootstraped sid. But installing a huge number of packages from
experimental without pulling 'all' experimental packages was always a
bit tricky for me. Is it possible to get these texlive2009 packages from
another source, for which I could write a simple pinning rule?
