I got the same problems.  
First, I remove all the stuff from TexLive-2007. During the reinstall,
for each error, I tried :
UCF_FORCE_CONFFMISS=yes dpkg -i --force-confmiss /var/cache/apt/archives/_package_version.deb
After that, a lot of fonts where missing, probably because some files in
/etc/texmf/updmap.d have an entension _name_.cfg.dpkg-dist. I copied this files to _name_.cfg, then refresh.
Almost all is working.

One problem, at least, mpost is calling missing makempx.
