Thanks for the hint. Regarding to its man-page a2ping can do the same
thing using the option --gsextra=’-dEmbedAllFonts=true
-dPDFSETTINGS=/printer’.
OTOH, epstopdf is still widley used, so applying the patch wouldn't do
any harm.
