I have tried to install your NMU binaries from the APT repository, my
own pre-NMU binaries, and tried to rebuild your NMU as well, but I
still get the same result: the .cfg.dpkg-new file sits briefly in
updmap.d/ and then disappears before updmap-sys is called.

Same thing with pbuilder: I have tried your NMU and my own SVN version.

A few minutes ago I have checked in all the updates from my own local
copy.  All are pretty harmless changes, but the sole exception perhaps
of switching to debhelper v7.

Perhaps something happened with the modification to dh_installtex when
fixing support for debhelper (>= 6)?  I am quite surprised that I
didn't notice this problem earlier, though.
