Thanks for the explanation.

The sample is indeed mirrored when the sample.dvi is processed with
dvips and the resulting ps file opened in a viewer.

Processing the ps file with ps2pfd additionally rotates the page so
that it is shown upside down.

Maybe the documentation for the style should be updated?

I guess the fact that the result is not visible even in plain dvi
output makes use of this style quite confusing.
