Can you reproduce it? Otherwise, I see no reason for a RC severity: The
user has reported to have had hardware problems which affected the TeX
file search mechanism, and no one else has ever reported anything
similar. 

Also, I'd appreciate your not sending control messages without Cc'ing
bugs, for packages where you haven't been involved so far, and for bugs
which have an active discussion.
