It's not August any more... ;)

But I understand.  We're starting the academic year here and I'm low on
time myself...

I'm using the latest ConTeXt locally here right now.  Current LuaTeX is
totally FUBAR and so Mk IV is (for me) unusable.  However, the default
engine is still Mk II (with pdftex or xetex) so upgrading at this point
has no drawback.  Ideally, we would have frozen the ConTeXt version in
testing to something from back in January before the font mess entered
upstream...  but since we didn't, it would be nice to get a little bit
of the functionality back.  

I don't see a reason to delay the update out of caution, since the
experimental Mk IV stuff is not the default.  Now, having _time_ to do
it is of course a different story... ;)

I assume it comes from the slightly archaic Anglo-American terminology
for denoting models of military equipment -- 40mm grenade launcher Mk
19, Cruiser Tank Mk III, etc.  But why upstream (Dutch, I believe)
picked it is anybody's guess...
