Please, PLEASE remove the "Generic Debian" choice from the list of
possible free licenses, and add a "other free license" instead. People
have always misunderstood this as indicating that there is something
like a "Debian Free Software License", and there are a couple of
packages on CTAN which don't have proper license information, just this
entry in the catalogue.
The problem with that is that it has hardly any significance. "Generic
Debian" could mean something liberal public domain or BSD-style, or
something restrictive like the GPL, or even a license which has just
made it into Debian *for*a*particular*piece*of*software* and might well
be considered non-free in a different context. The term doesn't convey
useful information.
Thank you in advance,
Frank
P.S. Since I'm currently behind a very slow, expensive dialup line I
can't check whether this particular package has more detailed license
information or not. If not, please contact the authors and let them
clarify.
