License issues
Hi,
prompted by Ralfs finding that the license for Utopia is missing I had a
look at our copyright file, and here are some points I'd like to change
or discuss.
1. Organization of the files
- I think we should concatenate the current debian/copyright and the
per-binary License file to one per-binary copyright file. It
shouldn't be hard to do, and it conforms better with letter and intent
of Policy.
- I have (in my local copy) added some of the explanatory parts from
tetex-base's copyright.headers (but not the whole lengty procedural
details) to the copyright file.
- I have also added again the license texts, or referrers to
/usr/share/doc/common-licenses
- We should install the lppl with texlive-common. Currently it's in
tl-latex-base, but there might also be generic macros under that
license which don't depend on tl-latex-base.
Hm, is it possible in tpm2deb.cfg to combine "move" with automatic
symlink creation in the old binary package? I fear not...
2. Individual issues
there's a list of "known problems" in tetex-base's copyright.headers.
Some of them are still open, some might have been solved, with others
I'm very unsure. In particular,
- euler: LPPL according changelog, but no indication in file.
What was that supposed to mean? I only see eulervm fonts, which are
lppl, but what and where are the euler fonts themselves?
Thanks for caring,
Frank
