Ok, please edit
	/var/lib/dpkg/info/lmodern.prerm
	/var/lib/dpkg/info/lmodern.postrm
BOTH in the same way by putting a
	exit 0
at the beginning (AFTER the first line).

Then do
	dpkg --purge lmodern
	dpkg --configure -a
