moving files around in texlive (was: TL2007-1~3 works on PowerPC)

I'm sure there's already a mechanism to move single files around, but I
couldn't find it.  

mapping;<filename>;remap

*copies* the file to the new destination, but we want to move it.  Do I
 really need to introduce a new mapping directive?
