Dear Paul,
I'm the maintainer of TeXLive in Debian, which contains your newlfm
LaTeX class. A user has reported a problem with the class:

I haven't tried this---Cameron, it would be great if you could provide a
minimal example so that we can see what you are doing exactly, see

Paul, this is really strange. The file contains \changes up to
{v9.1}{2004/09/16}, but \ProvidesFile still says
[2004/11/02 v8.3 Letter-Fax-Memo LaTeX Document Class]
There's one more thing: One the one hand, you state that the file is
under the GPL, on the other hand you write

Unfortunately, this is incompatible with the GPL, which forbids any
restrictions that are not explicit in the standard text. If you don't
want to drop it, I suggest that you use the LPPL version 1.3 (or later).
The LPPL gives such a protection, although not for the filename, but for
the name with which the file announces itself to LaTeX (\ProvidesFile).
Naturally both will be the same for any sane file, and insane people
won't respect renaming clauses, anyway.
