you seconded my request, and Joachim replied to you that he is not
going to release even a new pre-release soon.
the main obstacle for him being a compilation problem of an outdated
clisp version (2.25.1) included into xindy, using GCC-4.0.
this problem is not relevant to debian, because you are using
OS-provided clisp.
as it is unclear how long it will take Joachim to release another beta
version, i suggest to include your current version into sid.
