i asked, but i don't expect them to release it any time soon (i'd be
happy to be wrong). i suggest to release your current sources, then,
and when upstream will release a new version, update from there.

there's no need to delay and wait for upstream's new version - it's
always possible to release new debian package when a new upstream
version is released.
