examdesign versus exam (texlive)

Hi all,

Excuse me if this question does not exactly belong to this mailing list...

I am a university teacher and use to compose exams and tests with Latex, 
using the class style examdesign, in order to take advantage of its random 
generation of different multiple choice versions. 

I have a .tex file which used to compile smoothly under a Debian sarge 
release with tetex, but, now that I have moved to etch with texlive, it 
crashes. Explicitly when, for instance, under the command prompt I type:

# latex trf3062.tex

I get

I see that texlive tries to use the exam class, authored by Hirschhorn, 
and not the examdesign class, authored by Alexander, which I have already 
installed (hopefully in a correct manner...). What should I do to enforce 
the use of the examdesign and not the exam class??
