By the way, even if this is a bug in libkpathsea4, it doesn't break
unrelated software.  It specifically breaks programs that dynamically
link against it, which is one of the most intimate relations thinkable
between packages.  Moreover, libkpathsea.so.4, fmtutil and pdfetex are
from the same source package.
