Looks fine for me as well.
I'll make the necessary changes in "cjk", but won't upload another
version now since Frank has just uploaded a new one (cjk version
4.7.0+cvs20061019-2). I'll wait for other bug fixes until I upload
another version.
@dthurston:
You could solve it temporarily by moving
/etc/texmf/language.d/10latex-cjk-chinese.cnf to
/etc/texmf/language.d/20latex-cjk-chinese.cnf (change "10" into
"20").
