What does mean "typing pdflatex". Did you call pdflatex with a real
LaTeX input file, which includes as pdf file? Does it even try to
access the poppler lib?

They did: the version in exp. is libpoppler1. However the soname
change was performed during upload of 0.5.1. Maybe it should have
been done earlier....
