Re: xdvi mit Output
Hi all,
thanks Joey for reporting. Unfortunately I'm currently very busy (both
with real life and with fixing RC tex-common bugs), so I fear I'd forget
this private e-mail, and I rather forward it to the list. And while
we're at it, to Stefan too.

No, I wasn't aware that xdvi spits out information on the console (I
guess it's on stderr?). I dislike such behavior, unless I specifically
requested it, but I don't see how it makes it unsuitable for release?
There are loads of programs that do things like that.

Well, but these are all just unnecessary and maybe misleading
informational messages, no real problems: Everything works as expected?
Does anybody have an idea
- what we should do with those messages
- whether they can simply be switched off in the configuration file
- or how else to do it?
Regards, Frank
