When invoking pdftex the -interaction option does not seem to work. Each time I
am taken into "extended mode" and I have to hit RET to finnish my jobs. This makes batch jobs impossible for me.

Ok. In this case I am closing this bug. BTW, might it be that your file
missed the \bye/\end{document}/... needed to mark the end of a
TeX/LaTeX/... document? That's about the only situation that I can
imagine where a problem occurs as you described.
