Hello Debian TeX maintainers,

There is an error when attempting to purge the package:

  Removing tex-common ...
  Purging configuration files for tex-common ...
  /var/lib/dpkg/info/tex-common.postrm: line 36: /usr/share/debconf/confmodule:
No such file or directory
  dpkg: error processing tex-common (--purge):
   subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 1

You cannot assume debconf to be installed when purging a package.
