That looks like a problem with linking against libpoppler.

Hmm, according to <URL:http://packages.qa.debian.org/p/poppler.html>
this version has never been part of Debian. Does pdflatex work correctly
when used with libpoppler0c2 from unstable? How about the version in
experimental?
