I work in Biel/Bienne as well and I am also member of the Linux User
Group Bern http://lugbe.ch which has a regular meet up in Bern on first
Thursday every month.

Bern can be reached by train in ~30 minutes from Biel/Bienne. Location
is nearby the train. 10 minutes walk.

There are usually a few Debian users around, me included.

You (and every one else) are welcome to join and have a chat, no need
for being member btw.
