[SUA 79-1] Updated open-vm-tools version

Debian Stable Updates Announcement SUA 79-1 http://www.debian.org
debian-release@lists.debian.org Bernd Zeimetz
May 7th, 2015

Package : open-vm-tools
Version : 2:8.8.0+2012.05.21-724730-1+nmu2+deb7u1
Importance : high, if using open-vm-dkms

The open-vm-tools package contains tools for working with VMWare
systems, including the ability to build some related kernel modules
on demand ("DKMS").
The version of open-vm-tools in Wheezy is no longer compatible with the
kernel currently shipped in Wheezy. This update resolves the
incompatibility by allowing the kernel modules in the open-vm-dkms
package to build against both older and newer Wheezy kernels.

If you use open-vm-dkms, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to
this version.

Note that only the -dkms package is affected by this issue. If you are
not using that package then this update does not impact you.

Upgrade Instructions

You can get the updated packages by adding the stable-updates archive
for Wheezy to your /etc/apt/sources.list:

 deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian wheezy-updates main
 deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian wheezy-updates main

You can also use any of the Debian archive mirrors. See
'http://www.debian.org/mirrors/list' for the full list of mirrors.
