there is a typing error in the manpage of sshd_config. One MAC algorithm is mentioned as 'hmac-sha256-96' whereas it must be 'hmac-sha2-256-96'.
Otherwise an error occures.

Thanks. This was fixed upstream in OpenSSH 6.1p1 by simply removing
that MAC:
