Workaround for S7-2 regarding lastest Solaris 11.4.81.193.1 CBE
This information may be helpful to others until an official fix is
available. It concerns a possible workaround for a recent Solaris 11.4
CBE issue that can cause a system panic on the S7-2.
NOTE: This is my personal research and a record of my troubleshooting
attempts. I hope it helps others until an official update for the
Solaris CBE is released.

Section A) - Solaris 11.4 11.4.81.193.1 CBE
"panic[cpu0]/thread=20012000: vfs_mountroot: cannot mount root" during
system boot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Oracle S7-2 (SPARC64), this issue appears to impact systems using
SATA drives (not SAS). A workaround is to use SAS hard drives for the
Solaris installation.
Notes:
This issue doesn't occur with Debian Sparc64 on the S7-2.
The S7-2 hardware is compatible with both SATA and SAS drives.
Pre-CBE versions of Solaris 11.4 function correctly with both SATA and
SAS hard drives (including SSDs) on the S7-2.
The actual error is shown in Section B. For more details, refer to
Oracle Document 3076641.1. Oracle, however, does not provide a solution
in the document.
Tested various hard drive models and vendors, to ensure this is not a
compatibility issue with a particular brand.
