Sorry to say, but on a Sun Fire V240 with serial console this dies with:
Sun Fire V240, No Keyboard
Copyright 2006 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All rights reserved.
OpenBoot 4.22.19, 4096 MB memory installed, Serial #76594324.
Ethernet address 0:14:4f:90:bc:94, Host ID: 8490bc94.
Rebooting with command: boot cdrom:
Boot device: /pci@1e,600000/ide@d/cdrom@0,0: File and args:
The file just loaded does not appear to be executable.
With a debian etch CD this box boots:
Boot device: /pci@1e,600000/ide@d/cdrom@0,0:f File and args:
SILO Version 1.4.13
...
Welcome to Debian GNU/Linux etch!
So, the hardware is OK and hasn't turned into a toaster ;-)
HTH,
Uli
