Personally, I've found the _FreeBSD Documentation Project Primer for New
Contributors_ (http://www.freebsd.org/tutorials/docproj-primer/book.html) to
be a fairly good intro for getting real work done. Obviously some parts of
it are BSD-specific, but it should be a good basis for a Debian/SGML howto.
