Go for it. Take a look and let me know if I should gut it a bit.
Note that the SOCAT parsing is particularly fragile, but I'm not sure
if there's a Perl module or some such I should be using instead. It
*will* break sometimes right now on actually valid catalogs.
I guess you could just provide it as an optional tool, or,
alternatively, I could write it a la dh_registercatalog.
