Debian kernel update?

Thank you to the security team for excellent work!

Just a question:  I see that Redhat has released a patched kernel to
fix the recent security problems with the 2.4 kernels. 

Can we expect something similar from Debian?  Or if not, how can we
protect our systems in another way?
