sorry,

<IMHO>
 i don't understand why it's difficult to type everyday, as the first
thing

apt-get update && apt-get upgrade

on to a shell and then watch what happen.
you can watch the email while the system is upgrading
just putting sometimes an eye to look if all is working correctly.

i'm a system administrator and most of my time is spent to watch
mail logs or logs rather than upgrading machines.
(thanks to debian, just thought to do the same thing on a redhat ...brrrrrrr )

but if you do automatically this upgrade it could be dangerous just because
you're loosing the global situation ( e.g. a newer inetd that reopen
chargen and echo ? it can happen ), you can fall on the situation you do not
know what's running on that machine .
for this situation there's win2000 and i think it's enough for the world :-))

</IMHO>
