Browse the documentation (section interoperation) and the mailing lists archives at www.freeswan.org and for quick fonctionnal overview:http://jixen.tripod.com

I use many differents configuration like:

gateway freeswan - gateway freeswan
road warior freeswan - gateway freeswan
road warior pgpnet7.1(win2k)(bahh) - gateway freeswan

All freeswan configuration are made of debian potato, linux 2.2.14,17 or 2.4.5,7,8 and internet links made of adsl (pppoe, pptp), modem rtc, or direct connection(router cisco)

Be carefull of the mtu problems with pppoe connections.

Manu.
