Re: connecting to my box

Okay, I don't know how this has to do with my dns config (which were
screwy anyway).. so I went ahead and setup my dns server like it should be
(as a slave nameserver) and it works fine. I am able to connect to the
'outside' from it, but not to it.

I also had a look at my /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny files. My
hosts.deny was all commented out (i remember doing this much earlier when
I first installed Debian) and hosts.allow only has this line:

ALL:ALL:

When I tried to ssh with the -v option, here is what I get:

elzubeir@empire:/etc$ ssh -v localhost
SSH Version OpenSSH-1.2.3, protocol version 1.5.
Compiled with SSL.
debug: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config
debug: Applying options for localhost
debug: Applying options for *
debug: ssh_connect: getuid 1003 geteuid 1003 anon 1
debug: Connecting to empire [127.0.0.1] port 22.
debug: Connection established.
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
debug: Calling cleanup 0x8056830(0x0)

I hope this helps help me ;)
