I'm one of the owners, you can use debian/ if you prefer, it does lead to a
little bit of extra complexity as the team can have packages in two different
places, but at the end of the day it's more important that they are
team-maintained.

We should have a discussion on whether we make this "official", and whether we
should move other existing packages to debian/, but this is probably better
done at DebConf later this year.
