Yes, I agree: this a very good opportunity to emphasis the importance to change the license of parmetis. In this way, the software will get into Debian, which will improve the support towards users and developers. Exactly what George Karypis is looking for. On the other hand, if the developer(s) will not change the license, other packages, like Scotch, will become an alternative. Just to make this very clear to the developer(s). Maybe a common letter from different package developers might help? You will have my support as FreeFOAM packager.
