I'm not able to make it either today.. So here's a short status update from my side:

- rustc 1.79 (current upstream stable!) is in unstable :) I plan
to keep the updates flowing until freeze time, I guess if everything goes according to plan, Trixie should get 1.83 (or 1.84 if the freeze happens later than last time)
- a few smaller debcargo changes and fixes are open as MR, more input/feedback would be appreciated
- a cdylib design discussion was started, so far I don't think any blockers came up, but it will require coordinated changes in dh-cargo and debcargo

I also have this (well, hyper 1.X, which is the same transition :)) on my todo list, but if you are faster I'm also happy to review/.. ;)
