Is this perhaps an embedded library "double-conversion"? I seem to
remember a similar one used in Qt/KDE among other places, but I cannot
remember the details and cannot check right now.

If it is indeed using an embedded library, perhaps it can be made to
use the library installed on the system instead of the embedded one,
and so we end up with a double-benefit :)

Cheers.
