So in addition to what Karsten said, we're also undoing circular
dependencies and sending patches to the BTS to get things as clean as
possible, and to not have much delta with unstable.
Some of the patches were applied already, some on their way to be
NMUed, some untouched. If some of them interest you, or affect
packages under your control, please go ahead and fix them. Just try
to use the usertags and so on, so everybody can keep track.
This helps to uncover bugs and report them, test the patches proposed
when the packages need native support, etc.
Even the most basic packages, like base-password, need support for the
whole GTK ecosystem... and documentation of many packages requires the
full texlive, so things are not easy. But getting there ;)
