Package: reportbug
Version: 7.5.2
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

It would be nice if we could add a feature to be able to optionally
report bugs to
gitlab instead of debbugs.

I would like to volunteer to work on this feature but I need to
familiarize myself first with reportbug
code.

considerations:
- Reporting a bug needs a username on salsa
- Extra dependencies that will be introduced: python3-gitlab

thanks for your enthusiasm, but the Debian project decided to keep
using the BTS to report issues to the packages we maintain, so no,
reportbug wont support filing bugs against a GitLab instance. If this
is for projects, not directly related to packaging, hosted on GitLab,
then they dont need reportbug in the first place, and they can just
open an issue using the web interface.

for those reasons, i'm closing this report.
