I looked over the changes to libgadu's convenience copy of protobuf-c.c
and I *believe* that all the changes are relatively minor (fixing up
warnings due to libgadu compiling with more -W flags, replacing
C++-style comments with C89-compatible comments, etc.), or, at least,
they don't change any of the semantics of the protobuf-c library.

Awesome, thanks for checking that. Changed semantics was what I was worried about - until a few years ago the gadu-gadu protocol was completely proprietary, so I thought maybe they "improved" the protobuf-based done too. I'll do my best to upload this week.
