SSH upgrade problem

I upgraded a machine from sarge to etch and the process broke over ssh :(

Here's the log:

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Only

    DPkg::Options {"--force-overwrite";}

in /etc/apt/apt.conf (or equivalent) helped.

Since I used apt-get and not aptitude and cannot repeat the process
since the machine is upgraded, I'm not sure this is an issue. It
might be that aptitude can cope with this better. So this is FYI.
I can open a bug report if you like.

Regards,

	Joey
