Bug#475169: [kaddressbook] KAdressbook doesn't handle UTF8 when the contacts are stored in an IMAP folder
Package: kaddressbook
Version: 4:3.5.9-2
Severity: important
Hi,
since the update of kaddressbook (and all kde-pim) from 3.5.8 to 3.5.9, I have
a problem with my contacts:
I store my contacts on an IMAP folder, and since the update, all the non-ASCII
characters are replaced by "two squares". The problem is the same when I just
want to see the "email" in the IMAP Contacts folder with kmail...
However, when I save the vCard from kmail on my disk and re-import it, it is
displayed correctly, until I add a contact to my addressbook (or modify one,
or just close and re-launch kaddressbook).
Here is an example of a problematic vCard (actually, this is the source of
the "email" in the IMAP Contacts folder, copied from kmail):

Let me know if there's anything else I could to to help...
Cheers,
Khâpin
