Package: kdebase Version: 3.5.3-2 Severity: normal Multiple KDE programs take long to start up, and report various errors when user tries to start up several instances of program at once. Testd on two debian testing boxes. For example krusader reports "The process for the file protocol died unexpectedly." when starting several copies of it in same time, Konsole reports "There was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message returned by the system was: Colud not read network connection list. /root/.DCOPserver_hostname__0 Please check that the dcopserver program is running!" There where several instances of dcopserver [deinit] --nosid and all by one had also --suicide argument. ii kdelibs 3.5.3-1 rc kdelibs-bin 3.5.2-2+b1 ii kdebase 3.5.3-2 pn kde <none> ii krusader 1.70.0-1 pn libkde3-java <none> rc libkde3-jni 3.3.2-1 un libkdeedu-dev <none> rc libkdeedu1 3.4.3-2 ii libkdeedu3 3.5.2-1+b1 pn libkdegames-dev <none> un libkdegames-doc <none> ii libkdegames1 3.5.2-1+b2 rc libkdenetwork2 3.3.2-3 rc libkdepim1 3.3.2-3 un libkdepim1-dev <none> ii libkdepim1a 3.5.2-1+b2 -- Rafał Maj www.Raf256.org C++

Thanks, Olivier 2007/5/18, Olivier Vitrat <ovit.debian@gmail.com>:Hi, The Debian Qt/KDE team is trying to update the bug status of some old bugs in the BTS, and I'm helping with this task. Some time ago, you've reported bug number 383483 "KDE dcop inter-process communication seem to be slow and buggy" to Debian's Bug Tracking System. You can read the bug report at: http://bugs.debian.org/383483 We are sorry if nobody responded when you filed the bug, KDE has gotten more bugs in the past years than the maintainers could handle. The team is trying to fix this now, but we need your help. So please respond to this mail and tell us if: - you are still experiencing this bug (adding in what version) - the bug was already fixed (if known, in which version), - or if you have extra information on how reproduce this bug. Thank you for your cooperation! Olivier Vitrat helper for the Debian Qt/KDE team
