I have been usinsg kontact for a long time without seeing this, so I would
not call it 'renders package unusable'.
But you need to tell a bit more about your mail setup.
Which account types are you using? pop3? imap? dimap? ...
If you use imap or dimap, do you know what remote server software it is
running?

Is it a new install or a 'upgrade' ?
If it is a upgrade, from which version - and did it work back then ?

Please install kdepim-dbg to get a better backtrace. Current backtrace is
unusable.

How to load to a controller?

First you have to reset a connection of the 27-bit space bar of a hardware
to
rename the driver.
