Bug#254287: kscd: doesn't use the working sound device

Package: kscd
Version: 4:3.2.2-1
Severity: normal
Tags: sid

For some reason kscd and cdplay report working -- no error report, the display
shows tracks being played -- but no sound is produced. Playing the CD with xine
and xmms works fine.

I realize this may be a stupid bug report, as it looks like a configuration issue
rather than an application issue. But configuration where?

I tried using kcontrol, but everything is just working -- I don't see where the
problem originates. It would be nice if kscd gave some clue as to how to solve
this -- I read the manual and man pages, but they don't provide information about
how to deal with a silent (but otherwise working) player.

My sound device node is standard (/dev/dsp --> /dev/dsp0). I turned on all output
channels in kmix.

Cheers,
David
