I am working on a new serpento release, that will solve all the issues.
Of course, real life interfers with my intentions more than I would
like, but hopefully a new package will be out soon.

Well, I am slowly migrating my packages to my new e-mail address,
leaving behind those that I am less interested in, so obviously those
left are already in a bad shape... so I think you can go ahead,
although, time permitting, I think I will do some fixes and uploads
orphaning the packages by myself.
